A f -544.- ,zf 'V ' As we look into the future we see The Stardust Club of 1969. It is a bit more modern than it was in 1949, when we had our Jr. Prom. We see that all of our old classmates are gathering here for our annual class reunion. We have reserved a table for seventeen, which, atthis very moment, only a few chairs remain empty. At the head of our table is our former president, Jim Burge, who is now Vice- president of NIPSCO. Jim now has six blonde secretaries. The next chair is taken by Tom Marak, who is now working in the Screw and Bolt Factory and is taking all of his pay checks home to his family. JoAnn Ogle hasjust informed us that she has taken Sonja Henie's place as Queen of the 1969 Ice Follies. Seated across from JoAnn,is Jim Koeppen, better known as 'Tot' who was dis- charged from the Army last year. After 18 years in the service he reached the high position of buck private. He is loafing which is his favorite occupation anyway. The girl voted 'most likely to succeed' was Jo Anne Shaffer. She is now sec- retary to Barney Ilic and is still looking for a man! The boy voted umost likely to succeed' was Barney Ilic. He has succeeded in becoming president of the Carnagie-Illinois Steel Corporation and also the proud father of four sets of TWINS. Charles Huber, known to all of us as Squeak , was voted most popular. He is now a very popular plumber in Valparaiso. Seated next to him, is a woman in white. She is Catherine Marak. She enjoys her work as a nurse very much. As we look across the table, we see Francis Kalina who is now chief mechanic at the Chevrolet garage in Chicago. He has a beautiful home on the Lake Shore Drive. . Professor Jack Conrick just arrived with another college degree in his pocket. We now see Avis Hartwig who is now secretary to Senator Snodgrass in Wash- ington, D. C. , Irene Betz, the well known Powers model, has just finished an assignrnent for modeling all dresses for Sears, Roebuck and Co. Jim Jones has been promoted from stock clerk to manager of Harvey's Dime Store in Valparaiso. Melvin Tarnow is trying to decide which one of his dozen beauties he will marry. In his spare time he is farming. Helen Scotthas arrived late which is very natural for her as she never did make the first class in the morning fbookkeepingl. She is now employed as one of Jim's blond secretaries. Alvin Meyer is now owner of Superior Farm in our old home town. He is now a partner in Swift and Company. Last but not least, comes Jean Kraft who is now singing with Lauritz Melchior at the Cosmopolitan Opera House in Chicago. She is late because she had to take her daughter, Donna Jean, to take her lesson. As it is getting late we will leave you now and meet here again in twenty years. 10
