A it a Y eeel C -T The Mustang--'30 5516!---T- i'JiF?iiiTiiTJ A! el junior Class History ' 'I L On September 9, 1929, 25 juniors enrolled in Wheeler High School. All have shown much interest in their work, but some soon lost all their en- thusiasm and dropped out. Therefore there are only 20 remaining. The first thing that the juniors did was to call the class to order to elect the class officers. Willie Merryman was elected president, Minnie Hix, vice-president, Weldon Sandifer, secretary-treasurerg and L. M. Starr, sponsor. On account of Willie Merryman having to miss school for some time, Clarence Holt Was selected to fill his place for the rest of the year. The juniors have shown loyalty to their class, by the contest for football queen. At the first counting of the votes the junior candidate, Dorothy Bradstreet, was leading the contest, but it was a great surprise to all when at the last counting it was found that the Sophs were victorious. On the night of November 26, the Juniors showed their appreciation to the Seniors by giving them a banquet. It was enjoyed and appreciated by each and every one of the Senior class. After the Christmas holidays, all of the Juniors Were busy writing term themes and preparing for their mid-term exams. Almost every Junior passed the exams, and their striving to pass plane geometry was not fruit- less as most of them went over. Then came the Annual! The Juniors were just as anxious to put it over as anyone. Therefore they sold stationery, tickets for the Chamber of Commerce banquet, and gave a program in chapel, the proceeds of which Went to help finance the yearbook. They were interested in the most popu- lar girl and boy contest. Much enthusiasm was shown and everyone did all that Was in his power to put their candidates, Dorothy Bradstreet and Glenn Anderson, over. Not only was effort put forth in the contests, but the Juniors were studious as Well. They have had many parties and picnics. They plan to have a great class next year and are looking forward to the time when they will be Seniors of 1931.-MINNIE HIX. Page 22 10-10 'A
