45 ii if 1.3 . .ng This year's Show Choir continued to dazzle audi- ences under new director, Gordon Krauspe. The Show Choir per- formed at many major func- tions, Iuncheons, and din- ners. Some of the elite audi- ences included the Tele- phone Pioneers and the members of the Downers Grove Park District. The Show Choir also electrified many Wheaton citizens when it performed at the an- nual Cream of Wheaton and many WCHS Booster Club functions. The group combined with the Chamber Singers to compete at the IHSA Organi- zational Contest. The mem- bers also performed at the first all-choral concert in Wheaton Central's History. The group then went on to the Choral Festival, where they competed against oth- er fine Show Choirs. The Wheaton Central Show Choir had yet another busy and exciting year. The elite members combined their musical and dancing skills to create incredible shows, which were seen and applauded by many. 21

Along with a smaller Mixed Chorus, the Treble Choir and Chamber Singers entertained and impressed audiences. All three choruses performed in the annual Christmas and Spring concerts, as well as in their lst Fall concert with the Orchestra and their 1st All- Choral Concert. All of the choral groups also participated in the IHSA , Organizational Contest for choirs. Greg Taff, a member of the Cham- ber Singers, performed as a member of the elite IMEA District Festival Chorus. 4, The Treble Choir was comprised of forty-five more advanced sopra- nos and altos. The members performed a wide variety of music from pop to classical to jazz at the local grade schools and several WCHS Booster functions. The Treble Choir also taped a Christmas Show for CENTEL Cable TV. The other new choral group at Central was the Chamber Singers. This group of outstanding singers met every Monday evening for two hours. Like the Show Choir, the Chamber Singers traveled to perform for various organizations, clubs and corporations. In addition, the group sang at Cantigny, on CENTEL Cable TV, and for hundreds of Wheaton households by Christmas caroling. This year's Chamber Sing- ers was the basis for next year's Madrigals.
