Their hrsT public performance was aT ChrisT- mas, under The direcTion oT.ArThur SweeT, when The band parTicipaTed in a program Tor The service clubs of WheaTon. ATTer This evenT, The band began hard work and many exTra hours of rehearsal, in preparaTion for The annual spring concerT. Time was also spenT in working wiTh small groups and soloisTs for The conTesT. During The year, proiecTs of selling candy and Tudge were underTaken To earn money for an exchange concerT or a Trip To The Indianapolis 500 parade. These acTiviTies were under The supervision oT The ofTicers: Rich- ard Glass, PresidenT, Howard Macy, Vice-PresidenT, Tony TascheTTa, Treasurer, and Gail Shackel, SecreTary. This year the concert was held in Edman Chapel so that more people could attend. Also during the Christmas season, the orchestra and choir took part in the program presented to the service clubs ot Wheaton.
