Mr. Garabe- dian and Choir officers at work. Choir Choir, in preparing the Car- ol Concert, the Spring Concert with Bowdoin, and anthems for Sundays, was especially mindful of the con- tribution which it should be making in these times. Besides donating to War Relief, Choir has aimed to present music of enduring value to all. Dance Group Nancy Kline led the Dance Group through Vaudeville’s ““Gym Boogie,”’ May Day, and the annual March recital, featuring a satire on women’s defense work, “Military Greeting.” In contrast to the previous “Dance of the City,” the Group com- posed “Dance of the Coun- try.” Accompanied by Strophe they danced to the pulsating rhythms of ““The Congo” and rounded out a program of varying rhythms with a boogie- woogie, “Themes in Varia- . tion.’ Mrs. Gallagher assisted the Group and Miss Weygand adapted its music for the dances.

Chief diversion at NIKE meetings was glossy gazing. When the camera started clicking May Day, ’41, and when little men began appearing on campus with big black brief cases, then everyone knew that NIKE was on the job again. Rushlight Susie started Rushlight with a new cover Susie design by Ciddy, a sonnet by Bobbins, and the editor’s own short story, ““The Early Life of Alice J. Finch.” And Susie ended Rushlight for 1941-42 with a real Spring Issue full of love stories and poems. Wheaton read eagerly four issues of a magazine representative of the finest interpretations of college life and thoughts, punctuated with illustrations by Peck, Murdock, Mackay, and Roehrich. [ 28 ]
