An unpredictable Wheaton Academy team faced North Shore the following Saturday. Powerful, haughty North Shore was met with great zeal and determination. Two quick touch- downs were punched over by Davidson and Jervis in the first period giving the Warriors a thirteen point lead. North Shore battled back and tied the game in the second half! Feelings ran high! A deafening roar rent the air as Seeland leaping for Bosgrafs pass, pulled it in and galloped for a sensational touchdown! Sparked by a seven point lead the Warrior's line held. A dramatic victory of 20 to 13 was theirs! Now only one game stood between the Warriors and another championship! Luther North, the only undefeated team in conference play, stood menacingly in that gap! Feel- ing confident of winning their homecoming game by a slaughter, Luther North paraded gorgeous floats. The game started. Before anyone could catch his breath, Luther North, on four quick plays, punched over a touchdown! Pouncing right back the Warriors scored on a pass play to Seeland. Driven on by a wave of enthusiasm, the Harrismen scored twice more. Leading 20 to I3 at the half, they again trotted onto the field. Now came the real acid test ! The Warriors' line held! Slowly they pulled away from their desperate foes by scoring twice more. The Warriors had won another cham- pionship by whipping Luther North 33 to 'I3!

Up and in goes the ball as Chrouser fires from the corner WARRIORS HAVE TROUBLE There's something iust thrilling about the season's first basketball game! While yet in the huddle, determined hands clasp! Then amid boisterous applause, the starting five trot onto the court! Each player breathes deeply and crouches for the iump! Up goes the ball and with its rebound, a new season begins. Facing powerful I.C. in the opening game, the Warriors displayed great potential. Along the sideline Coach Pooley, making his debut as basketball coach, shouted encouragement to the fellows. The game grew tighter and more nerve- iangling! As the remaining seconds fleeted, the Warriors staged one last des- perate effort! Like a mysterious enchantment the court quieted. Sadly enough the score remained 46 to 43 - l.C.'s favor. Never , quipped the Alumni squad, but for once they were wrong! Sparked by Sullivan and Thompson, the game developed into a parade and ended with victory celebrations - 46 to 42! Sporting a 'I and 'l record, the Warriors faced Luther South. Unfortunately Wendling of Luther South netted 32 points to hand the Warriors a resounding 80 to 69 defeat! Watch out for Stone! That was the cry of anguish from the Warriors in the fourth quarter against Francis Parker! Leading the entire game, they saw their lead dwindle until Stone's continual bombardment put Parker out in front to stay! Leading the scoring with 4'l points, Stone outclassed the Warriors - 64 to 6'I! Following the example set, Chicago Christian beat the Warriors 48 to 38. The Academy simply couldn't cope with such a tight defensive zone. Only 7 points, but that was more than enough . . . to lose again! Despite all their efforts against St. Procopius, the Warriors fell short by a 61 to 54 margin. Continuing to play commendable but unlucky ball, the Warriors faced North Park. For only a fleeting moment the game was almost theirs! Having fought hard all the way, it seemed only deserving to climax the evening with a thrilling victory. Instead, North Park squeezed them out - 59 to 58!
