l IL ' A Mx ,tie-1.4 ' ani ff' ii continued? in. . . Dr. Gieser, acting for Dr. Hurst, opened the Commencement service in prayer. After Dr. Fickett's address and the awarding of diplomas and awards, Dr. Edman gave the charge to the class. We were together for the last time before parting ways, that Saturday afternoon. This is when we real- ized how much our classmates and Wheat- on Academy meant to us. Reluctance to leave clashed with anticipation of our trips home that afternoon. Indeed they did. Paul Munsell is awarded a Wheat- on College scholarship for espe- cially conscientious work. Mr. Benjamin presents John Lag- eschulte with the Bausch 8- Lomb science award for excelling in science studies. Our class gift, a patio 8. fountain, is presented by class president, George Toles, to the Academy's director, Mr. Johnson.
