Zu gghfozy The morning of August 29, 1958, marked the beginning of a four year voyage for a group of sixteen freshmen who were gathered in the hall of Wheatland High School. This group consisted of nine girls and seven boys who were as follows: Barbara Martin, Edith Johnson, Mary Cooper, Shirley Wilson, LaDora Miller, Oran Houck, Louella Cahow, James Cahow, Pat Redman, Larry Lurten, Alice Jones, Glenda Yoast, Jackie Bradshaw, John Redman, James Moore, and John Dobson. We chose Mrs. Murnan as our class sponsor and went to Bolivar on our first party, a picnic supper and then to the show, Bell, Book, and Candle . On our second class party we went skating at Hermitage. Our Sophomore year greeted us with twelve members. Our class was smaller due to the loss of Barbara Martin, Pat and John Red- man, and John Dobson. We chose Mr. Batesel as our sponsor and went to Springfield to See the Ice Capades on our first class party. On our second class party we again went to Springfield, this time to see the show, The Tall Story . Our Junior year, we again elected Mr. Batesel as our class spon- sor. We were sorry to lose James Moore and Oran Houck from our class but welcomed Bob Baker and Marilyn Morgan. For our first class party we went to Springfield to see the Jubilee of Stars which starred Fabian. On the second party we saw Gone With the Wind and The Absent Minded Professor . We were all very happy the day our class rings arrived. On December 17, 1960, we presented our Junior Play, The Skeleton Walks . We gave the Seniors of '61 abanquet, using the theme, The Cinderella Bal1 . Our Senior year, we were joinedby Karen Barnes, Geneva Chaney, and Steve Neighbors but were sorry to lose Marilyn Morgan from our class, this leaving us a total of twelve members. We chose Mr. Batesel as our sponsor. We haveenjoyed all the activities that are part of being a Senior. Such as: Senior play, Senior banquet, our Senior trip, Baccalaureate Services, and Graduation.
