Of course, all the fun activities after school could not have been held without the support of these organizations . These activities have mainly remained the same through the years. We still have hayrides, roller skating parties, once in a while an ice skating party . and dances. The type of dance at the dances and the type of music are the only things that have changed. The stu- dents have danced their way through the charleston, jitterbug, twist, swim, jerk, and so many others that you can ' t name them all . Wheatfield has given many plays through the years . The last Senior play to be given was CHARLEY ' S AUNT. This play is included in that long list of activities that we know you like so well, the money making projects . How could we ever forget the cake raffles, fish frys, and candy sales that have plagued the citizens of Wheatfield ever since the school began. 9

people The style of dress goes in circles within periods of about 20 years . A long time ago we saw the below ankle dress, the puffy sleeve, and the waist band, with a gathered skirt . Then there was the A- line dress, the mid -ankle length and the straight sleeve. Now we see the mini skirt, in A-line style or gathered, with the puffy sleeve or gathered sleeves . Shoes have gone from round toe, no toe, pointed toe, square toe, and back to the round toe . Male styles do not change so often, The men have gone from baggy, plain pants and buckled shoes to colored pants and tied shoes to wild colors and back to buckled shoes. Changes in the community went from picnics, square dances, and ice cream socials to parties and driving around town; but there are still most of the old activities that went on for years, like going to the show, borrowing water melons, and helping Halloween goblins. The biggest change is in the school house. It has gone from a one -room building, where students had to walk to school or ride the buggy and one teacher taught all 8 grades, to the future two- story building with a learning laboratory, recreation area, and several classrooms for each subject. There will be labs for students to use what they learn and tapes provided for foreign language classes. But the students in general do not change; the adults just forget what they were like when they were young!
