KATHRYN BROWN- -library, Latin head, senior sponsor. MARIE KING- -remedial reading head. reading and latin strengthens language arts Latin students learned how our English words are formed. In Latin I, noun and verb constructions proved important in forming Latin sentences and translating Latin to English . Much was taught about the early Roman culture. Latin II students con- structed projects concerning the buildings of Rome. A badly needed remedial reading program is in its second year at Wheatfield School. For the many students who have fallen be- hind in reading ability, it provided a chance to achieve in school work. A special library of materials and resources for speeding reading rates and increasing verbal com- prehension has been started. John Abbring and Byron Burdett check their daily grades in Latin. Remedial reading student, Kenny Miller, uses the accel- erator under the direction of Mrs. King.
