Student Council ROW 1: Ed Jamieson, Dan Stalbaum, John Abbring, Ed Jones, Andy Lawyer, Mr. Helms, Advisor; ROW 2: Tom Tanner, Brian Capouch, Rich Hebda, Arch Risner, Marvin Van Kley, Roger McCarty; ROW 3: Bill Nuss, Christine Duttlinger, Vicki Theis, Kristie Abbring, Sharon Veden, Judi Bierma, Steve Stayrook. The Student Council is an organization consisting of elected students who represent the student body. The class presidents are also included. The Council is set up similar to our national government, and it tries to solve any problems before it by the students. It also sponsors several convocations throughout the year. National Honor Society ROWl: Clarence Duttlinger, Rachel Jamieson, Bonnie Stalbaum, Bonnie Brouwer, Sheila Miller, Theresa Donis, Mr. Walden, Advisor; ROW 2: Jim Stayrook, Tom Tanner, Brian Capouch, Arch Risner, Marvin Van Kley, Roger McCarty, Steve Woolever, Mort Harrington; ROW 3: Janice Tillema, Bonnie Myers, Vi c ki Theis, Kris Abbring, Sue Longstreth, Mary Bierma. The National Honor Society is an organization composed of those students who have excelled in character, leadership and service during their high school years. To become a member of the society, a student must have at least a B” average and must be chosen by a committee consisting of the entire faculty. In the spring of the year N.H.S. holds an induction ceremony, takes an educational trip, and awards a scholarship to a member to further his education.
