ROW 2: Jim Craig, Sam Wireman, Don Henning, Rick Jones, Tim Banks Wheatfield High School student paper, The Echo, a project of the Typing II class, is published six times a year with special editions at Christmas and at the end of the school year. The students gain a knowledge of the various aspects of newspaper editing. LIBRARY CLUB SEATED: Miss Brown, Sponsor; Theresa Donis, Bonnie Stalbaum, Gay Perkins, Vicki Theis. STANDING: Mary Bierma, Carolyn Misch, Sheila Miller, Susan Longstreth, Bonita Brouwer, Bonnee Myers The club was started in 1947 and 1948 with 8 charter members of the class of 1948. Its purpose is to organize librarians, to help students in their studies, and to get people interested in the school library. Each librarian spends at least 1 hour a week learning to catalog books, keeping the library clean and shelving the books.

STANDING: Lynn Frieden, Steve Woolever, Roger McCarty The Junior Heart Board works in connection with the National Heart Foundation to help to solicit funds for heart research. 27 ART CLUB SEATED: Shirley Anselm, Barbara Hanewich, Jim Craig, Diana DeVries, Dave Whitaker, Mrs. Myers, Sponsor. STANDING: Carl Ricker, Steve Whitaker, Ed Ritchie, Rick Ferguson, Martin Ratliff, Bev Dobson, Debbie Bierma The Art Club was organized this year as a service organization and for the purpose of giving the outstanding art students an opportunity to learn more about famous art work and to display some of their own talent. As a service club, this organization, made up of a maximum of fifteen people, hopes to help with posters, bulletin boards, invitations, displays of various other kinds, and to work toward the purchase of art equipment beyond the art budget. It was possible this year to purchase a large ceramics kiln. JUNIOR HEART BOARD
