Class History In 1958 we entered Wheatfield High School as Freshmen with 83 members. Our class was made up of pupils that came from Kniman, Newland, Gilliam, DeMotte Christian School, and graduating members of the eighth grade of Wheatfield. With Mr. Wells as our sponsor, we elected the following officers: President, Tom Stone; Vice President, Em- ily Harris; Secretary, Nancy Klemz; Treasurer, Marilyn Myers; and Senators, Henry Dahm and Carol Jones. At the end of the year only 64 of us remained to become Sophomores. In our sophomore year we were guided by Mr. Johanning as our sponsor. Our officers for the year were as follows: Henry Dahm, President; Nick Munning, Vice President; Phil- lip Foster, Secretary and Treasurer. Our Senators were Bob Misch and Nancy Klemz. We chose our class sweaters at the end of the year. They were charcoal gray with red trim and white accessories. Our Junior year was a very exciting one. We chose the following officers: President, Nancy Klemz; Secretary, Nick Munning; Treasurer, Phillip Foster. The Senators we chose to represent us in the Student Council were Bob Misch and Marilyn Myers. Mr. Sadler was our sponsor. Under the direction of Mr. Boiler we produced our class play entitled The Boardinghouse Reach.” The play was a comedy depicting the disorder that arises when 13 year old Wilbur Maxwell turns the family home into a boardinghouse. Another highlight of the year was the Junior-Senior Prom. The Prom was held in the old gym, with the ban- quet in the cafeteria. The theme of the prom was Marineland, and the gym was deco- rated as an underwater scene. We had chosen our class rings at the beginning of the year, and we received them several months later. We were very proud of them. We entered our last year of high school with 47 students. Under the supervision of Miss Brown, we elected the following officers: President, Nick Munning; Vice President, Phillip Foster; Secretary, Leta Rae H ershman; Treasurer, Irene Tillema; Senators, Bob Misch and Joyce Noble. We gave our Senior play entitled Professor, How Could You? under the direction of Mr. Walden. The play was a comedy involving a woman-shy professor and three marriage -minded females. Senior pictures were taken, and received with enthusiasm. Committees were organized to plan the details necessary for graduation. As we look back on our years at Wheatfield High School, we realize that we will never forget the wonderful times we had, or the wonderful people we knew.
