With Miss Hammerstein as our sponsor we elected the following officers; Darrell Allen, president; Richard Boezeman, vice pre- sident; Ray Wireman, treasurer; Dianne Bricker, secretary; sena- tors were Louise Grube and Eddie Allyn. Entering into our Sophomore year our class had decreased to 53. Under the direction of Mr. Jones, we chose the following offi- cers; Richard Boezeman, president; Eldon Jeffries, vice president; Roger Wahl, secretary;Darrell Allen, treasurer;and Dianne Bricker and Curt Martin, senators. During the first part of the school year we ordered our class sweaters, which were turquoise with white trim. Our Junior year was very exciting. WithMr. Taylo as our spon- sor we elected the following officers; Alice Finney, president; Di- anne Bricker, vice president; Thelma Ratliff and Roger Wahl as senators. Under the direction of Miss Figert, we gave our class play named Men are Like Streetcars.” We chose our class rings with the Premier design. The biggest expenditure was the Junior- Senior prom, with Hawaiian Cruise as our theme. We entered the most exciting part of our school years with 43 Seniors. Under the direction of Miss Brown, we elected the follow- ing officers; Eddie Allyn, president; Curt Martin, vice president; Leona Lauraitis, secretary; Alice Finney, treasurer; and Richard Boezeman and Eldon Jeffries, senators. We gave our Senior play entitled, Happy Daze with Miss Stine as our director. With our school days coming to an end, we will all remember the pleasant memories we have had here at Wheatfield High School. 18 CLASS PROPHECY ”1959 CLASS OF WHEATFIELD HIGH SCHOOL REUNION CHICAGO, Illinois, May 13, 1969 --The tenth annual reunion of the class of 59 from Wheatfield, Indiana is being attended by many well known personalities. Darrel Allen has just returned after climbing one of the highest mountains in the Himalayas, which is said to be a more rigorous climb than Mr. Everest. Dianne Bricker and Leona Lauraitis are secretaries for the world ' s largest oil company, Allyn and Jefferies , which was or- ganized when these two prospectors discovered oil under the Ant- arctic Ocean. Four from the class, Paul Hoffman, John Ooms, Lawerence Peshel, and Tony Caldanaro have joined the police forces of various mid -west states. Steve Mathis and Curt Martin started a trucking line with an old 1949 pickup truck and now run the Martin Mathis! ' trucking line composed of one thousand trucks of all sizes. After completing law school, three of the class formed a law office now known internationally as Tysen, Tysen, and Norrick, Lawyers and Private Detectives. Louise Grube, Carol Dase, and Ann Sculley are stewardesses for the RickBoezeman Airlines, Inc., operating all over the world . James Black and Kenneth Stewart now have one of the largest farms in the United States and their products are marketed in all parts of the world. Richard Odle, William Hart and Bill Davis are supervising construction of the one mile high office building being built in New York City. The famous designers of this buildingare Ronald Stan- ton and Russel Gorley. They work from designs which were ori- ginated by designers before them. To finance this building, the multi -million dollar woman bankers, Pat DeVries, Sarah Wiggs, and Caroline Mueller, consented to lend the necessary amount. The world famous columnist, Joyce Wolf, was present. Mari- an Craig, secretary to Miss Wolf, also attended the reunion. Alice Finney, the nurse who helped develop a vaccine against Cancer, is now working on a vaccine for the new African flu. Mary Misch, Loretta Nelson, Linda Robbins, Judith Stewart, Mary Thies, and Gloria Hernandez have formed the largest chain of beauty parlors and reducing salons in the world. They now have branches operating in Hollywood, Chicago, New Orleans, Miami, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Detroit, Indianapolis, and New York City. Roger Wahl is with the United Nations forces which are on the first manned satellite in outer space. 20 CLASS WILL I, Darrell Allen, will my ability to laugh to Lee Bachman who doesn’t seem to laugh very much. I, Eddie Allyn, will my F.F.A. presidency to anyone who can keep order during the meetings. I, Richard Boezeman, will my height to Jerry Wolf. I, Jim Black, will anything that has to do with school to anyone who wants it. I, Dianne Bricker, will my job as editor of the Echo to anyone who likes to get printers ink all over his fingers. I, Tony Caldanaro, will my ability to duck hunt to Mr. Bisher. I, Marion Craig, will my ability to go out to anyone who wants to stay in. I, Carol Dase, will the color of my hair to Joan Myers so she won ' t have to tint hers. I, Bill Davis, will nothing to anyone because I have nothing to will, and if I did have anything to will, I wouldn ' t have anyone to will it to. I, Pat DeVries, will my ability to eat a lot and still stay slim to Ca- rol Sue Myers. I, Alice Finney, will my natural blonde hair to Phyllis Allen. I, Russel Gorley, will my sister to anyone who wants her, because she ran out of money. I, Louise Grube, will my chair in band to anyone who thinks he can understand Mr. Johanning, because I can’t. I, William Hart, will something to Bill Davis so he will have some- thing to will. I, Jean Hayes, will my gift of gab to Marilyn Myers. I, Gloria Hernandez, will my ability to stay on a diet to Brenda Pere- grine. I, Paul Hoffman, will my ability to turn a perfect catie to DonSytsma. I, Eldon Jeffries, will my ability toplay football to anyone who wants to play. I, Leona Lauraitis, will my braces to any girl who doesn ' t like to kiss boys. I, Curt Martin, will my ability to take two girls home in one night to anyone who thinks he can get away with it. I, Steve Mathis, will nothing to anyone who wants it. I, Mary Misch, will my backseat in Government class to anyone who wants to look out the window. I, Caroline Mueller, will my third period assembly seat to anyone who wants to help John Garling work his arithmetic problems. I, Loretta Nelson, will my seat in the sixth period study hall to anyone who wants to sit and listen to Walter Mathis hum. 21 I, Don Norrick, will my ability to try to sleep in Mr. Stone ' s Govern- ment class to anyone who thinks he can get away with it.
