We entered Wheatfield High in 1953 with sixth-two members. With the aid of Miss Brown, our sponsor, we chose the following officers: President, Carolyn Dahm; Vice-President, Rob- bert Braun; Secretary, Wilma Hetrick; Treasurer, Ronnie Gastineau; Senators, David Krieve and Roy Jungels. This year we won the Echo contest and also took in the most money. Con- sequently, we were able to give thirty dollars towards buying new lockers for the school. Our number had shrunk considerably by the sophomore year, and we had only fifty members. Mr. Shoemaker was our class sponsor, and under his direction we selected class sweaters and held a Hard Times Party . Officers for this year were Joe McFarland, President; Tracy Jones, Vice-President; David Krieve, Treasurer; Roy Jungels, Treasurer; Carolyn Dahm and David Cavinder, Senators. Our membership continued to decline, and as Juniors we had only forty-three members. Our sponsors this year were Miss Stroup and Miss Traverse. The most exciting event of the year was the choosing of our class rings, which we still think are very pretty. We also presented our first play, Dotty Daffy , which was a hilarious success. Officers elected were: Tracy Jones, President; David Krieve, ice -President; Audrey Krypel, Secretary; Peggy Martin, Treasurer; Irene Mueller and David Cavinder, Senators. In our Senior year, with thirty-five members, we again had Miss Brown as our sponsor, with Mr. Ehrick as co-sponsor. Officers were: Tracy Jones, President; David Cavinder, Vice-Pres- ident; Audrey Krypel, Secretary; Robert Kerkes, Treasurer; Irene Mueller and Joe McFarland, Senators. This year has truly been our busiest, with the measuring for caps and gowns, pictures, ord- ering invitations, and working on various committees. We were very lucky in that we were able to give our Senior Play, Something ' s Cookin ' , during the first semester. We were kept busy preparing for Class Exercises for May 17, Baccalaureate on May 19, and Commencement on May 21. As a parting gift to the school, we gave another seventy dollars to the locker fund.
