COLORADO , 1960-61 Four years ago we stepped inside The welcoming front door, And tho' we barely realized These years would mean much more Than iust an education ' Or a iob that must be done, For these years were packed With comedy, tears, laughter, and fun. The world outlined a challenge As freshmen we became, And each new friend we met here Was more than iust a name. That first year passed so quickly 10h . . . to live it again! The doors were opened a 'second time , And we were sophomores then. We plunged into it thoughtlessly Without looking at the past, For yesterday meant little to us Who were iuniors, at long last. The class rings came and we were thrilled With ioy beyond compare, And a feeling of pride came over us, A feeling we each could share. Our senior year was upon us, And we began to regret We would have to leave this place That we never could forget. A diploma was our goal, But we knew deep down inside The years spent in Wheat Ridge High Were actually our greatest pride. The best years of our lives Were spent in Wheat Ridge High. We were a member of the band, In chorus our voices rang high. We witnessed the crowning of many a queen, We built some floats and staged some plays, And enioyed every moment of - ', our dream. The variety show took the audience on a fanciful flight down Broadway's Great White Way. Among the 19 presentations were a magic act by Larry Bramble, solo by Miss Caryl Tenney, and a be-at bongo party performed by Bob Nelson and Chuck Wright. WHS students enjoyed the tradi- tional fun and festivities of Farmer's Frolics, l96O as seniors were dunlced, classes par- ticipated in a free-for-all, and teachers were put in stocks. 40 F h 1 W W f' ff-X W, V 5 J ,. , fe L 5 1' 44 3 H, W? . 2 t ll ' Q-ii 2 . . f :f':555s:i:iZa- :ui r S 1 , ..
