This is Mr. Steven's eighteenth year at Wheat Ridge, and it is under his fine leader- ship that Wheat Ridge has acquired its high regional and national reputation. He is well-known in the field of Guidance, and has made the Guidance System at Wheat R'd 1 ge a model one for many other schools. He graduated from the University of Denver with B.A. and M.A. degrees. He has taught at Denver University and many other neighboring universities. He is a member of many educational organizations. Mr. Stevens has a fri dl ll ' en y sm e, and can always find time to help any student with a problem. His hobbies are his work, his car, and fishing, Mr. Heaston was new to the job of principal of the high school this year, and has proved himself very capable ot handling this job. He is known for his helpful, deliberate Way of thinking out the problems of students. Under his leadership, this year was one of the most successful for the high school in every way. Mr. Heaston is a graduate ot Colorado College. His hobbies are his dog, and collecting arrowheads. Mrs. Pennington is the very sweet lady who is our Dean of Girls. She has been at Wheat Ridge for twenty-two years, and has helped many girls and boys during their high school careers. Mrs. Pen- nington is a. graduate of Kansas University. She teaches advanced algebra, solid geometry, trigonome- try, and mechanical drawing, and is sponsor ot the Girls' Club. Outside of her school work, Mrs. Pen- nington is very interested in collecting antiques.

Mr. Stevens, Mr. Martensen, Mr. Andrews, Mr. Johnson, Mr. 0'Connell, Mr. Spencer. Mr, Andrews has lived in this community for several years, and has three children now enrolled in the Wheat Ridge Schools. He has been a. member of the Board of Education for eight years. His hobbies are his home, family, and fishing. Mr. An- drews is an accountant by vo- cation. Mr. LJ'Connell has served on the Board of Education for five years, and has lived in this county for twenty years. He is a. recognized leader in commu- nity and public affairs. His public life has Included service as county attorney for this county. Mr, O'Connell has two sons, one an alumni of W.H.S., and another in the Junior High School. Mr. Martensen, President of the Board of Education, is known by everyone for his friendliness. He' has been at member of the board for twelve years, and has lived in this com- munity since he was six years old. He has two children, both alumni of W. H. S. By voca- tion he is a, celery grower, and by avocation he is a leader ir community affairs. Mr. Johnson has lived in this community since he was two years old, and has served on the Board of Education for seven years. He is a dental laboratory technician and manufacturer. His hobby is home gardening and flower culture. Mr. John- son has two sons who are alumni of NV. H. S., and it daughter in the class of '-49. His hobbies are his business, and his mountain cabin in Indian Hills.

Mlss Bowles is new in Wheat Ridge thls year. She teaches Biology, girls' health, is a. Freshman adviser, and is sponsor ot Pep Club. Under her ex- cellent leadership, the Pep Club has taken an active part in all school ac- tivities. She majored in Sociology at Colorado A. Q M. College, where she graduated with an A. B. degree.
