FOOTBALL This season of football opened with the largest squad of boys ever out for football here at Wheat Ridge. The boys have a fine spirit and the ability to win games but the main drawback is inexperience. 'There were only four lettermen back this year. These were: Knox Pnarisa Stan Wilmore, Al Anderson and Don Knippel. The season started with tne Farmers beating Littleton 12 to O. The team showed great promise but it needed experience. The second game of the season Aurora upset Wheat Ridge 7-O. The game was a hard fight and was played in midfield most of the time. In a practice game Wheat Ridge was beaten by Englewood 20-13. The teams were unevenly matched in weight because their men outweighed ours 20 pounds to a man. In the third game of the year the Farmers massacrered the Arvada Redskins 12-0. After the kick off LeeRoy Kunz took the ball on the 50 yard line and went over for a touch down. In the third quarter Arvad kicked and Harry Narcisian got the ball in midfield and went over for a touch down. The fourth game of the season was, played with Golden. It was played on a windy field. The Demons did most of the offense in the first quarter but Wheat Ridge finally got going and drove deep in Golden territo ry, but could not score. half Wheat Ridge outplayed Golden all the way, but we get over the goal line. The game ended with a score game ended the first round. The rest of the season same. The next just couldn't of 0-O. This went much the ALL CONFERENCE MEN George Holley layne Pearson Al Anderson 8
