THE FUNNY BRATS The play takes place in the living room of the Gresham home. Dick and Harriet tRichard Spain and Carolyn Coghlanl high school youngsters of Sylvia Gresham 1Linda Biewenj are try- ing to marry off their dictatorial older brother, Tom tRoger Rolandj. Sylvia, al- though in love with her dead husband's brother, Loren Gresham tCharles Kitzmanl, is planning to marry Whaley McWhorter QDavid Dawsonj against the wishes of everyone except Whaley and Aunt Hettie Higginbotham iKareen Daglej. The Brats complicate Tom's love affair with Lauralee Lynde fBeverly Wittj when they involve him with a widowed astrologist, Gwynette Gadwood fNorma Hunterj and the servant girl Aurora Borealis Pike lNeva McCulleyJ. Aurora's boyfriend, a wrestler, Boogerface Boggs tPat Clerkinj adds to the confusion when he becomes jealous and due to the Brats, mistakes Whaley for Tom and thrashes him thoroughly. In the end serious romance developes for: Sylvia and Loren, Gwynette and Whaley, Lauralee and Tom, Aurora and Boogerface. The Brats, Dick and Harriet find they have a new dictator in their future step- father, Uncle Loren.
