LULORADO DEDICATION OF NEW SCHOOL BUILDING On Frrday nrght anuary 23 the exercrses for the dedrcatron of the new school burld rng were grven A large number assembled to enjoy the efforts of the partrcrpants rn thrs event The fact that such a large crovsd was p esent rncludrng the parents of the ehrl dren and the patrons of the sclool encouraged every one to do hrs or her best Mr S M IN Mars head of the State Department of Educatron dedrcated the new burldrng and hrs talk xx as deeply apprecrated Ly all who heard hrm Immedrately after hrs address lVIr C G Kelly a very promrnent lawyer of Wharton made a number of remarks whrch surted the occasron and were very enjoyable Thrs part of the program was completed Ly Mr Hodges our Q errntendent who has vsorked so farthfully for the chool chrldren of Wharton arc was a great factor rn carryrng to maturrty the rdea of hawrng a modern sclool burldrng H was greeted cordially by those who heard hm speak that nrght The songs sung by the mem ers of the Glee Club were followed by readrngs ren dered by puprls from the rntermedrate grades grvrng varrety to the entertarnment Last Tut not least a number of the boys and grrls rn the Nrnth and Tenth Grades took part rn a marrrage ceremony rn whrch the old SCI ool Durldrng was wedded to the new Thrs number was very novel and on account of rts orrgrnalrtv appealed to the audrence The program berng concluded the grrls of the Domestc Scrence Class served punch Thus passed away a rery rmportant date on the calendar of those rnterested rn educatron rn the drstrrct of Wharton JUNIOR SENIOR PARTY A'I GLEN FLORA On Hallowe en nrght the unrors complrmented the Senrors wrth a party at the home of Sudre Ernst rn Glen Flora The guests xx ere attrred rn werrd costumes approprrate for the occasron and were met t the gale by a ghoulrsh frgure who greeted them wrth rcy hngers Once rnsrde the fun really began Bobbrng for apples sprnnrng the plate and many other drversrons passed away the trme all too qurckly Fortune tellrng was then rndulged rn Each guest was taken rnto a dark room where there was a large globe filled wrth slrps of paper These slrps had wrrtten on them drffcrent drrectrons whrch the per son who drew them were to follow The drrectrons were wrrtten rn clever brts of verse 'Vluch excrtement and laughter was caused by the queer antrcs they had to perform l ast tut not least came the good thrngs to eat there were hot chocolate sandwrches and angel food cake The end came all too soon and the guests unwrllrngly took therr de parture as the Hallowe en moon rs as rrsrng X - - H 1 , J , - ' . , . . . .
