U Ut J2 StMnt SENIORITIS It is here! they exclaimed. It had finally come. After Twelve years of waiting, Senior Year had begun: Graduation and parties, and things of that kind, Senior Events were on everyone ' s mind. It was Thursday and time for Cone ' s famous speech; He said it quite simply, Senior Year is not life at the beach! But we did not believe him, we, the Class of ' 89; We would have fun, and everything would be fine. Weeks moved by quickly, and time went by fast. Before we knew it, first term had already passed. We celebrated that night at the Semi-Formal, But upcoming applications and term papers made people abnormal. We didn ' t lose Pep Rally, like we had been told — We won quite easily with a loud chorus of Maroon and Gold. Next it was December and time for the Senior Class Play, And Bye Bye Birdie was most entertaining, I must say. Seniors sang and danced and learned a few lines To give great performances and have a fine time. January was cold and snow added to frustrations; People just could not wait for sunny April vacations Finally, a time to relax; second semester was here. But that plan was axed by the arrival of mid-years. We made it through winter and went on toward spring. We just couldn ' t wait for that final school bell to ring. Well, June rolled around and we thought we were done. Once we took finals, we could have fun in the sun. But there was once last thing that we had to complete, We had to make the long march to Pomp Circumstance ' s beat Saturday, June 3rd, graduation day was here. High school was over, and it was truly our finest year! Amy Conway ' I The 1 988 football season was an overwhelming success once again this year. The team played outstanding defense throughout the season. Quart- erback Tim Stevenson led the offense along with the help of Barry Bourassa, who broke every major school record for a single season and all-time. Tri-captains Tom Romans and Steve Ruggerio provided lead- ership and spirit as the team defeated one te am after an- other. Credit for the team ' s success should be given to Mr. Kelly who was named Coach of the Year. Determination and talent once again combined for a winning season. The 1988 Girls ' Volleyball Team was led by co-captains Mary Ledwell and Sharon Grazioso. The club is loaded with talent and enthusiasm. After completing the Senior class play in December, the group threw all their energy into the production for the State Drama Festival. The actors compete with schools through- out the South Shore in hopes of winning the state competi- tion. Regardless of the out- come, this year ' s club con- tinues the long tradition of top- notch student productions.
