As the couples arrived, the music started, and our prom began. This was the social event of our junior year. It brought us together as a class and ended with long lasting memories. 24 Seniors for Seniors Dinner On November 22, 1987, the class of 1988 met in North ' s cafeteria and pre- pared to spend a busy day serving a com- plete Thanksgiving dinner. A crowd of over 200 of Weymouth ' s senior citizens were entertained. It was North ' s 2nd an- nual Seniors for Seniors Dinner. This dinner was coordinated by a se- nior committee which was chaired by Jill Capodanno, Derek Petrus, and Todd Serafini, under the supervision of the class advisors, Ms. Cragin and Mrs. Pis- ciottoli. Following a month of prepara- tion, the committee collected over $1,000 in funds from local businesses and in- dividuals to sponsor the dinner. The combination of fine food, enter- tainment and enthusiastic participants made it difficult for the senior citizens, as well as the class of ' 88, to end this annual event. HOMECOMING ' 87 The 1987 Homecoming Dance, orga- nized by the cheerleaders, was a great success. It was a festive display of school spirit and pride, enjoyed by all who attended. Thanks to Dan O ' Brien for fill- ing in for Dave Donovan who could not attend. Jill Capodanno, Bill McEachern, Meredith Avery, Dan O ' Brien Susan Bushey Derek Petrus 29 PEP RALLY The annual pep rally was once again an adrenalin- filled day. Three weeks before the rally, each class started working on ideas with victory in their eyes. The guide- lines were strict and each grades ' skit had to be original. The freshmen, despite their lack of experience, performed well. The sophomores and juniors designed creative, effective skits. However, the seniors were the champions once again. They incorporated a few acro- batic flips into an exciting, narrated skit about football and a dance. All in all, the pep rally was an excellent be- ginning to Thanksgiving. 30 31 32 Yearbook Staff For The North High Section It takes a great deal of creativity and enthusiasm to create a successful yearbook. This year ' s staff was made up of a handful of dedicated individuals who were deter- mined to put together a book of special memories for the Class of 1988 to share. The staff often stayed late into the night putting finishing touches on layouts, and picking out pictures. Our staff ' s work week did not always end on Friday. Often, we found ourselves driving through snow on Saturdays and Sundays to finish work for a Monday deadline. After graduation day has passed, and good friends move away, we hope this book will help bring back memories of our years at Weymouth North. WEYMOUTH, MA. 02189 Dear 1988 Graduates: We wish each of you a life filled with good fortune. Take the skills you have been taught throughout your high school years and put them to good use in your in- dividual trade areas. Take time to reflect on how you have grown from teenagers to young adults making your way now through life ' s trials and tribulations. Every successful person has experienced an occasional failure; however, successful people have the ability to keep on going no matter how discouraging life may become. A positive mental attitude is the realization that there is a solution for every problem. Your self image dictates how successful you will be. The way you perceive yourself will either be a restriction or a license to achieve. You have depended on us to educate you, now we depend on you. Your manual skills and your knowledge to work as professionals are your tools to success. Continue to develop your craft and work with confidence and pride.
