I, Eugene Barrand, will W ability to get along with the freshman girls to Max Bontrager. fleas fikwy About twelve years ago Wetmore was blessed with a first grade class, which is now the class of '5l. Those being graduated who started in the first grade at Wetmore are Loren Roush, Margery Kirk, Kenneth Kling, Patricia Ebelmesser, and Marjorie Thieme. During our years in grade school many new faces appeared and familiar ones were lost. Before long we were in the eighth and final grade, and these eight years were happy and profitable. Our Commencement was one to remember-new suits, clean faces, and lovely flowers. Our speaker was Reverend Seivers of the Methodist Church in Hol- ton. Twenty-eight of us started our freshman year. We had a surprising change, now we changed room and teachers for every class. Those starting as freshmen were Claude Trundle, Loren Roush, Patsy Noe, Doris Mayer, Edrie Dachenhausen, Kenneth Kling, Winona Lewis, Edwin Wittenbach, Jean Poston, Elvin Zwahl, Kenneth McDaniel, Barbara I-Iaxton, Floyd Shumaker, Irene Gavin, Jim Roush, Louise Basel, Patricia Ebelmesser, Don 'I'roughton, Marjorie Slater, Vernon George, Marjorie Thieme, Joe Davidson, Gene Brock, Margery Kirk, Alvin Stuke, Helen Snyder, Clyde Firkins, and Mabel Trundle. A new freshmen class meant initiation time for the sophomores. The boys had to dress as girls from comic strips, and the girls dressed as boys. We looked forward to being sophomores so we could initiate the freshmen. F As juniors we gave a banquet for the seniors 5 our theme was Ship Deck. E, Everyone enjoyed the delicious meal and the dancing afterward. Then the final year of high school arrived-our Senior year. We were given a lovely banquet by the juniors. The senior play was Stranger :Ln the Night. We are all looking forward to our senior trip with Mr. and Mrs. Teel, our sponsors. mmm em ummm yr
