The Wethersfield Flying Geese Baseball Team rolled to a conference Championship undefeated in league play. The Geese battled Toulon to determine the conference Championship. The first game of the playoffs with Toulon, Winners of the Southern Division, was called because of darkness with score deadlock at l0-lO. The final Championship was played at Northeast Park in Kewanee. Gordon Van Woes went to the hill for the Flying Geese and turned back the Trojans with a brilliant pitching performance. The final score of the contest was 6-2. This game was the first Baseball Championship for the Geese.

UIIACIII G TAFF Coaches Ed Green and Jim Johnson led the Wethersfield Flying Geese to its most successful athletic season in the history of the school. In football, the Geese, won the Blackhawk Con- ference Championship, finished second in the conference in basketball and emerged the conference champs in baseball.
