Second Fiddle by Guernsey Le Pelley. The clever dialogue and humorous situation provided a good variety of characters and a real stage for acting. The cast included Patty Palmer, Krysta Harden, Brenda McCook, Karen Chorpening, Julia Brooks, Jimmy Stewart, Louis Feingold, Dennis Bostick, and Krista Shirah. A very good attendance hailed the play as one of the group's best performances. Entering the SEAIS district One-Act Play festival held at ABAC in Tifton, the group of players placed fourth with Lily, a dramatic story of a nightclub queen, Maudie Le Claire, who reveals herself as the daughter, Lily, so esteemed by her mother on a prison farm in Georgia. The actors holding the major roles in the play all received special recognition by the judges. They were: Patty Palmer as Janet, Leah Twitty as Maudie, and Gloria Gurley as Marne. Minor roles were by Brenda McCook, and Jan Rackley. The Playmakers hosted the Third Annual Talent Show at Westwood in May. The theme, Mardi Gras, added a carnival effect to the well- attended affair. The fans in the stands are nappy. 115 Prophet a The group that dispersed from the Emerald Seas of June of '75, Has now regrouped in Old Dodge City And they're very much alive. Come along with us to the famous city We're going to take you there We'll see what's happened In 20 years since to our brave and to our fair. In the city of many legends A class reunion is being held Even Festus and Matt Dillon Have no wilder tales to tell. As we near the city limits We expect the sign to say After May 2nd, 1995 Dodge will be closed to stay. Can you hear the noise? Can you see the dust? There's a big crowd coming And they're making quite a fuss. What's that in the middle Way up in the air It seems that someone's riding In a Ring like chair There's a great big banner That with our mystery helps It seems it's Mr. Universe Our own Carey Phelps. All along the sidewalk People stop and stare Who's that over yonder With the copper hair? My goodness, it's Pam Tomlinson I wish that we could reach her But she's always in a hurry Since she's an algebra teacher My goodness she looks taller As through the crowd she moves She seems to have grown at least a foot She's wearing platform shoes. Look there in the shadows Hiding in the hall It's the infamous Bill Bullard The greatest cheater of them all He has to hide in darkness To keep himself unknown It's hard to be a socialite When you're very accident prone He hides there in the darkness Waiting for a mate It seems to me that first things first He should try to find a date. She's trying hard to make her place In the wonderful world of art It would be so much easier if she were only smart Well, here she comes a cruising Behind her steering wheel It's Dana just a waving To give the boys a thrill. In his light green Cadillac Or is it his brown Mark IV? Stevey's trying very hard To park so near the door He's trying so his special date Won't have to step in mud No wonder they still call McKenzie The Westwood super stud. There's a game in the stadium Come both boys and girls It's starring Mr. Cochran Vann The biggest center in the world Cochran's still trying to bust thru' the line As the people stand and cheer When really he'd rather be at home Drinking a nice cold beer. As we watch the exciting game Perched on the edge of our seat We'll call our friend Lucretia We'll order up some ice cream It would be a treat We'll send it over by a girl It seems that she and Tommy Now have a branch; Ice Cream World. The game is almost over The stands begin to clear The cheerleaders are starting To give the final cheer. The captain is a hollering She's stirring up the crowd Who would believe Beth Brewer Could ever be so loud. As we leave the stadium And go out in the street Down at the shopping center Who do you think we meet In a swanky outfit She picked up in Sweden Kitty is a model for the famed Mark Eden. Also in the shopping mall There's a place called Purr It's a plush date bureau To match up him and her. Luata is its leader She matches them up smartly The only problem being She matched herself with Hartley. Just across the hall we find A different kind of store Milton Brooks selling John Boy clothes Overalls, hats, and more. He's doing quite a business It's really begun to thrive It should, he's been modeling the clothes Since 1975. Back at reunion headquarters We're astonished at the crowd They're all surrounding someone 116 froptyttQ It looks like its McCloud. Riding horses while on duty Can't be done too easily But they're all getting lessons From our own E. B. Beasley. Displayed in the lobby Surrounded by some hay Is the tractor Tim rode 'round the world Accompanied by Kay There's only one small problem That's causing quite a smear The tractor he rode was not a Ford Oh yes, a green John Deere. We notice two are missing We wonder where they are It seems they couldn't get away Because of Sandifar Being Westwood teachers Should be best you bet But there can be no favors Even if you're a pet. Yes, Susan and Miss Becky Are sitting with their classes Next time; they'll know better They'll be smarter lasses. Entering now is Troy Davis In sports he makes his fame He wanted a baseball scholarship But instead he's with the Flames Not in an official office Instead he hollers duck So none of the fans in the stands Will be hit in the head with the puck. Also in Atlanta associated with the Hawks Is David Earnest who hollers while he walks He tries to sell his hotdogs As through the crowd he roams It's the closest he's been to a basketball hotdog Since he came away from home. Tom Cobb is in the world of baseball, too. He's using his many talents He's designing the brand new uniforms In a coordinating balance The patterns and the colors Are distinguishable and fair Next, he will be telling them How to curl their hair. Sitting in the lobby Trying to stifle a sob Is poor Gloria Gurley Who seems to have lost her job. It seems that being a secretary Can be right exciting She found she could handle the shorthand. But she couldn't handle the typing. Rodney's in Dodge City Looking for a painter It seems the Piggly Wiggly signs Are getting so much fainter Everyone in Camilla Is standing around in line Waiting to shop at the brand new store To be built by the future home sign. It seems that the meat at the Piggly Wig Comes from very near It's all sold local to the store By the livestock auctioneer Fran's doing her job very well Although she's very slow She's trying to make a livelihood To support her sweet Jo-Jo. Ole Eddie Akridge is in fine form It seems he ain't no fool He just skipped out on Paula Allen Like he skipped out of school. He wanted to come to this reunion But he was sure to be late For as hard as he tried and as much as he cried He couldn't find a date. It seems that today We're very blessed For Lauch and Donna Have joined the rest together. At least for today. That is until Lauch has something to say. Then, Donna, she will leave him At that moment she won't shout She'll haul off and hit him Then she will walk out. It's time for this reunion To really get on its way Now the Master of Ceremonies Will have something to say. Our good friend Vic Greene With all his dependability Has made this whole thing possible When he reserved this City. Without his forward thinking We would have missed the treat Instead of seeing everyone here We would have found them on the streets. Hasn't it been enlightening To see what has happened plenty And once again will join them In another twenty. 117 (EU 00 118 ®f ’75 119 draimation Gloria Gurley, Valedictorian sam Griffin Literature Award Graduation Speaker Junior Women's Club Scholarship Kitty Dunn, Salutatorian Math and Science Award Presbyterian Church Scholarship ICast Hill Ani (tetament We, the Senior Class of 1975, have almost reached the goal for which we have worked so hard. We have had wonderful dreams about graduation, but now it has dawned upon us that we are not really ready to leave. There are several reasons our joy is tinged with sadness. We are about to leave friends — members of our class with whom we have shared the responsibilities of upholding the traditions of the school. That brings us to another reason for sadness. What will happen to all the treasures that we have so faithfully guarded during our Senior year? We are turning them over to you, the Junior Class. Next year you will become Seniors — the guardians of these class treasures. It will be your responsibility to keep them as well as we have done. It will be a great undertaking. Are you equal to the task? Have you the seriousness which the job requires? We, the Senior Class, have often wondered and worried as to what would happen when you, the Junior Class, take over the responsibilities. We have watched you grow from Freshmen to Sophomores and then to Juniors. We have watched you in frivolous moments and serious moods. We have seen many mistakes and foolish moves you have made. We would have liked to have given you some of our adult advice, but you were headstrong and we knew you would not listen. Age, however, brings wisdom and perhaps during the next few months your judgment will be better than we have given you credit for. We do have a little advice to offer and we hope you will consider it well. First, we think you should be more dignified in your associations with your elders, as becomes Senior Class members. If you continue as you have been next year, it will tend to lower the standard of our renowned class. Second, we urge you to make better grades. We realize this means less social activity, but you are older now. However, do not attempt to outstrip our own remarkable class, in fact it might be a difficult task to do so. We do urge you to uphold all the ideals for which we have worked to attain. Third, we beg you not to expose yourselves to that very common and contagious disease known as exaggerated ego, or in everyday terms — swelled head. This is not a fatal disease, but it may bring criticism and humiliation upon its victims. For you members of the Senior Class of 1976 we bequeath some special things: There's a new diet called the see-food diet. Every time you see food you eat. Dana, our see-food dieter. Leaves Susan Shiver her famous diet. To help her become a few pounds lighter. For Bobby Giddens, E.B. has a pair of handcuffs For we hear from the girls that he can be quite rough. When the moon comes out and it gets pitch dark, The only gear that his car knows is park. Witt best wishes to Lynda Ott, The presidency of the N.H.S. is left by Susan. This should keep her from being grounded a lot. So in her social life she won't be losing! To the petite and quiet junior, Miriam Price, Who has never cracked a smike in all her life. An instant giggle is left by Donna Phelps, Because when cheerleading it really helps. From Stevey to Johnny . . . the McKenzie name, In hopes that he'll continue to add to its fame. For the junior who we don't know much about, 121 But who comes out at night without a doubt. We leave to Tammy Roach from Beth Brewer, Self-confidence, her class participation to insure. The senior class has formed a new organization, (the N.O.S. — Non- Outstanding Seniors). We selected its first member without hesitation. The Joe Namath of Westwood, or as we know him, Lauch, Leaves this honor to Mike, the new Super Jock. Straight from Piggly Wiggly, in the best way he knew how, Rodney stole for George, a case of puppy chow. Lucretia leaves for Lisa a Saturday night chauffeur. In hopes younger men will be more available for her. Robbing the cradle has become a game for some. Look out freshmen . . . here Lisa comes. Pam leaves a chocolate factory to Donna Hays, To help her on those craving days. We regret that it's the candy company of Mars, ICaat Hill Ani alentament Because they don't make $100,000 bars. N-E-S-T-L-E-'S . . . Donna knows that it's the best. From our master-mind Vic, who is known for his delight, A new type of food called giant delight. We pick Spooner to give it a try. So maybe he'll succeed in reaching the sky. Tim . . . leaves Kay. Since at Westwood good grades are hard to attain, Fran leaves Susan Norris her overused brain. Especially for Joey from Milton Brooks, Membership in the Roman Health Spa for improving his looks. Daily workouts on the shaking machine Might very well help him become pleasantly lean. Gloria leaves to Sherry the Baptist moral code. In hopes that it will help her along life's rocky road. For Marvin Williams from Tom Cobb. A very exciting and glamorous job. In the June issue of Playgirl, for which he poses next week, A centerfold position for his gorgeous physique. Since we're leaving, next year's football is sure to lack. And a new face is needed to keep things intact. Our star quarterback Bill, leaves Mel, his position. To help the team in the very difficult transition. From Kitty and Lauta for Jenny, Because they know she needs so many, A year's supply of panty hose. To supplement her many clothes. Alka-Seltzer, Alka-Seltzer, fizz, fizz, fizz: After every party Boney feels a little dizz. To stop the morning headache and ease his sufferin' Carey leaves to Boney, a bottle of Bufferin. For the junior that we find hard to predict. Whether or not our age will do the trick. Cochran leaves for Donald an order for some beer, Because he'll be 18 by this time next year. Ben has been told time and time again. That washing his hair is not a sin. In regard to our senior boys' belief, David and Troy leave him a can of grease relief. Here just in time from Nassau, a new grass skirt. For Eddie Akridge to give to Martha Lee. To help her in her quest to become an accomplished flirt. For Kathy with her snobbish air. Who thinks she has the world's most beautiful hair. Becky leaves a pair of cutting shears. Hoping she'll change in a couple of years. Composing a book by us has been a difficult task. The Title: All We Wanted to Find Out from Mr. Sandifar, But Were Afraid to Ask. This is a special gift from the seniors to Beth Vann. Can she do it? We hope she can. There's a special person among us for whom we really care. Of our hopes, our dreams and anxieties, she has always been aware. She has put up with our tempers, and personality quirks. She has always work a smile, even when we acted like jerks. She has guided us through this long year, and hopefully we've matured. She's showed us that our opinions count, which has made us more self-assured. In life we hope there are people who will stand by us and care. And give us the warmth and kindness that we've received from Mrs. McNair. Now in parting, let us say to the juniors as a whole, that your last year of high school is one to be treasured. Savor every minute of it. With this in mind we close with our class motto: Have fun, let's jive. Cause we're the Seniors of '75. 122 The staff of the 1975 Wildcat appreciates the unfailing support of these patrons and the advertisers on the following pages.
