Proud we are because of high standards maintained by those whom we present on these pages of the 1969 Warrior. The faculty, the students, the non-instructional personnel, and the P. T. fbeofcafzbn The yearbook staff of the Westwood Junior High dedicates the 1969 Warrior to Miss Mary Kathryn Coe as a token of appreciation for her many services to the school. She has been a member of the faculty. since Westwood first opened its doors, serving first as librarian and seventh grade English teacher. Miss Coe, now a full-time librarian, is a person of many talents. Her greatest talent, so far as we students are concerned, is her ability to hold a class or an audience enthralled while she reads to them with all the emotion and expression that would be a credit to a person with theatrical experience. Each morning she conducts opening exercises over the intercom. Her duty as librarian is that of audio- visual supervisor. Through her efforts our classes are greatly enriched because of ma- terials that she sees are available. Her great love is Arts and Crafts at which she is most adept. She is particularly in- terested in ceramics. Because of her work in helping others with the crafts and her service to others in Lake- land where she lives, the Business and Profes- sional Women's Club of Lakeland selected her as their Woman of the Year for 1968. She teaches crafts in the summer program in Winter Haven. As soon as this job is over each year, she attends an Arts and Crafts Fair in some other state, getting new ideas and ex- hibiting some of her own work. C. Because of her limitless enthusiasm and her great pride in and loyalty to her school, she is always ready to serve in any way that she can - even as the liveliest member of the faculty cheerleaders. A C Miss Mary K. Coe, we salute you! L at t lg was sr t a an
