VICA is in its 8th year of existence, and is a group of vocational students. Competition with other schools begins on March 28 at the Northern Skill Center in such areas as: autos, building trades, electrical and welding. A stu- dent has approximately 4 hours to work on a project. The first three places in regional competition will go on to compete at the state level. Last year and this year the com- petition will be held at Ferris College, and the national competition will be at Atlanta, Geor- gia. Mr. Naki is the chapter advisor and over- all coordinator of VICA. Other advisors include Mr. Turino, Mr. Praznik and Mr. Thor- ton. Mr. Maki said: Based on the past years, Westwood will probably do pretty well on the regional level and again at the state level. Most of the club placed well at regionals, with the Parliamentary Procedures plac- ing 3rd of 27 teams.
