Qearon, has seen to it that during our four years at Westwood High we have been provided with a top notch Physical Education pro- gram. Popular activities have included team handball, aerobics, volleyball, and everyone s favorite, swimming. Our school nurse, Mrs. Clement, has always been a caring and helpful friend in times of need. From this staff we have learned the value of taking care of our bodies th rough exercise and a healthy lifestyle, about which we were taught in our sophomore Health classes. Beauty Is In The Eye Of The Beholder Directed by Mr. Thomas DelSignore, the Art Department fosters a host of talented and creative individuals. With courses rang- ing from ceramics to AP Studio Art, this de- partment enables students of all abilities to partake of the visual arts. AP Art History is also offered for those of us who prefer con- templation to production. We thank the art staff for broadening our minds and for en- riching our years at WHS. Mr. Thomas DelSignore, Director Mrs. Judith DesPres Musical Notes The Music Department, headed by Mr James Qiurleo, Offers a wide variety of musi cal organizations including Concert Band Dance Band, Orchestra, Marching Band, Vo cal Ensemble, and South East Districts Also, established only last year, Chorale has become quite popular. These groups meet the needs of all who are musically inclined, and although many are extracurricular ac- tivities, the dedication of the participants keeps standards high. Unlimited Resources Westwood High is especially luck to possess a well-equiped media center. Our librarians are always available to lend a helping hand in order to find some crucial bit of information for a research paper, and our media specialist does everything from preparing the PA system at pep rallies to filming various school events. The class of 1987 extends sincere thanks to this helpful staff. Home Is Where The Heart Is Even in the agee of the Yuppie, the Life Skills and Science Dept. remains as popular and as inexpendible as ever. Coordinated by Mr. Lawrence Rettman, the curiculum in- cludes courses in clothing,, foods, and child growth. The Class of ' 87 appreciates all that this department has taught us, and hopes to see the number of males involved continue to rise!
