Doucette, had a busy year aiding students in mastering the fine art of speaking a new language and oversee- ing the activities of the Spanish and Trench Honor Societies. Senor Dhimitri ' s voice will forever seem to ring throughout the hallways, Hola Chica! Just as Madame Doucette will always be ready with a friendly, Ca va? Rounding out the Foreign Language curiculum at WHS are Mrs. Gray ' s German classes and and Miss Tieri ' s Latin course, both of which have been expanded during our years here. Although learning a new language is quite a challenge, this devoted staff has made it a fun and exciting experience for all involved. Mrs. Hollis Perry 27

In the year . The History Department at Westwood High is particularly strong thanks to the dedicated fac - ulty which offers a wide variety of courses, their extra time and energy, and their friendship as well. Under the direction of its chairperson Mr. William Davis, the department successfully guided us through three or four tough years of social studies. Especially noteworthy were Mr. Stack ' s Ancient and Medieval History class, Mr. Beurman s Economics and Sociology classes, and the infamous junior year U.S. History courses with Miss Congdon or Mr. Brown. The Class of 1987 extends warm thanks and best wishes to the entire WHS History Department. Beauty Is In The Eye Of The Beholder Directed by Mr. Thomas DelSignore, the Art Department fosters a host of talented and creative individuals. With courses rang- ing from ceramics to AP Studio Art, this de- partment enables students of all abilities to partake of the visual arts. AP Art History is also offered for those of us who prefer con- templation to production. We thank the art staff for broadening our minds and for en- riching our years at WHS. Mr. Thomas DelSignore, Director Mrs. Judith DesPres Musical Notes The Music Department, headed by Mr James Qiurleo, Offers a wide variety of musi cal organizations including Concert Band Dance Band, Orchestra, Marching Band, Vo cal Ensemble, and South East Districts Also, established only last year, Chorale has become quite popular. These groups meet the needs of all who are musically inclined, and although many are extracurricular ac- tivities, the dedication of the participants keeps standards high.
