+ b2 = c2 Mr. James Pender, Coordinator Mr. Raymond Kodzis Mr. Richard Margreaves 1986-87 was another challenging year for Westwood math students. Under the guid- ance of Mr. James Pender this department strengthened basic skills while introducing new material. In Mr. Rooks classes, he asked the questions and students an- swered, replacing lectures with often active discussions. Mr. Kodzis ' jokes, Fischler ' s ex- pressions, and Miss Bolles humor added life to algebra, geometry, and analysis. Mr. Hargreaves prepared a few brave souls for the AP calculus exam and as always, the invaluable math seminar was everyone s fa- vorite hangout. The Class of 87 thanks this staff for its patience and help. Miss Judith Bolles Mr. Edward Baker 22
