Principal ' s Message To the Class of 1986: Although it is an annual custom for the Principal to write a message to the members of the Senior Class, this one is rather a special one for me. Due to the fact that I taught a class last year, it was my privilege to know a great many of you far better than it is usually possible. This was true not only of the students whom I taught, but also their friends and associates, students whom I came to know through the members of my class. I, therefore, take special pleasure in wishing all of you great success in your higher education and, in time, in your careers. You should all be aware that your class has established an enviable reputation for yourselves in the school. If the senior activities which have taken place up to the time I write this are any indication, I am sure your spring senior activities and graduation week will be truly outstanding. I thank all of you for your cooperation and hard work during your four years at Westwood High School and join with you in celebrat- ing the accomplishments and honors which have resulted. Phillip F. Throughout your tenure at Westwood High you achieved an enviable record not only in the classroom, but in athletics, music, theater and student organizations. We were not only proud of your successes but also your initiative in accepting challenges and promoting the reputation of your school and community. You always displayed a strong sense of maturity, school spirit and community pride. You have prepared well — you reflect the love of your families and rewards of a dedicated faculty. Your enthusiasm was our motivation as you followed in the footsteps of our former graduates. Preserve the fond memories and valuable friendships of your school years — they are prized possessions.
