CALL UP PYTHAGORAS... Under the ubiquitous eye of Mr. James Pender, the Math Department provided us with a wide range of courses — from Algebra I to A. P. Calculus AB. Thanks to the excellent instruction of this staff, we will always remember congruent trian- gles, binomial theorem, and those won- derful!?) logarithms. It was nice to know that the math seminar was always open when we needed a little(or a lot!) of extra help. This department deserves praise for their commendable work in prepar- ing us for the future. Cream of Wheat is so good to eat! ... Plug it into your calculator;!! ... A Smart Trig Class? ... Sounds like G, GR, GROO, GROUPING! ... Summer school, Oh summer school... L L r flfc 9V Mr. Ivan Van deWorkeen Mrs. Karen Tosca Mr. David Walsh COMPUTER MATH This year, under the superb teaching of Miss Tolini and Miss Patricia Sullivan, the variety of computer courses offered an exciting insight into the new and growing world of computer science. With new accelerated courses like A. P. Pascal, students were able to apply their knowledge of BASIC to a more advanced computer language. Added to the gradu- ation requirements this year, computer science has been taken by all — words like GOTO and WRITELN have be- come popular at the high school, as crowds gather at the computer room doors, waiting to finish their complicat- ed lab assignments. Thanks for showing us a little BYTE of the computer sciences! Miss Patricia Sullivan Miss Dorothy Tolini 25
