PUNCTUATION, PAPERS, POETRY... Dr. Terrence Earls Department Chairperson The English Department, as always, of- fered an array of interesting courses. Dr. Terrence Earls did a great job as first- time Department Chairperson, the posi- tion vacated last year by the unforgetta- ble Miss Burns. Who could ever forget Miss Shute ' s diaphragmic breathing ex- ercises, Mr. Hancox ' s pick a number between one and eighteen, or Mr. Mi- lan ' s dramatic lectures (never a boring moment!). From vocabulary lists to Chaucer ' s Canterbury Tales, this won- derful staff guided us through Comp Grammar, War Lit., Creative Writing, A. P. English, and many other challeng- ing courses. CALL UP PYTHAGORAS... Under the ubiquitous eye of Mr. James Pender, the Math Department provided us with a wide range of courses — from Algebra I to A. P. Calculus AB. Thanks to the excellent instruction of this staff, we will always remember congruent trian- gles, binomial theorem, and those won- derful!?) logarithms. It was nice to know that the math seminar was always open when we needed a little(or a lot!) of extra help. This department deserves praise for their commendable work in prepar- ing us for the future. Cream of Wheat is so good to eat! ... Plug it into your calculator;!! ... A Smart Trig Class? ... Sounds like G, GR, GROO, GROUPING! ... Summer school, Oh summer school...
