r f i The art of teaching involves more than just patience, knowledge, and time. It is a communication link between a student and teacher, a mutual respect based on the pursuit of knowledge, the sharing of ideas, and the eventual attainment of our innermost goals. Throughout our four years at Westwood High School, every one of us has been touched in some way by the unyield- ing devotion and commitment to learning the faculty has demonstrated. By sharing a part of themselves, the faculty here at Westwood High has en- hanced our growth, not only as scholars, but also as individuals. The Class of 1986 has chosen to dedicate their yearbook to a teacher whose profound devotion and concern for the students best exemplifies this vital link between student and teacher. Always giving more of yourself than necessary, you added warmth to the classroom by making us unafraid to approach a challenge, eager to attack a problem. You were always there to lend support and reassure us of our strengths and abilities. Both in and out of the classroom, you provided us with guidance and with a new perspec- tive — you became, for us, a trusted and loyal friend. Therefore, with our deepest gratitude, we the Class of 1986 dedicate our Green Years to you, Mr. Calvin Topalian.
