INSIGHr INIO HCW 1HE MODERN WORLD IS PUT T0GE1HER Mr. Peter Case Social Studies Once again, the Social Studies Department offered courses which remained popular to all of the students. The ever-popular sociology class with its field trips and guest speakers, along with the psychology class, was always filled with students, as were the anthropology, Chinese and Indian Civilization classes. United States History was required for all of the juniors, and many participated in reliving history through a trip to Wil- liamsburg, Virginia. Two advanced-placement courses in history — western civilization and United States History were offered to talented students. Passport To The World The Language Department works to familiarize the students with the customs, food, and geography of both France and Spain. To interested students, Latin proves to assist in improving both grammatical and vocabulary skills. The Department is directed by Mrs. Elaine Eaton along with Mr. Manol Dhimitri, Mr. Robert Burke, Mr. George Parker, Mrs. Barbara Grey, and Mrs. Ann Marie Gean who assist her in instructing the foreign lan- guages. Mr. Parker is also the Director of Driver Education. The department also promotes the Span- ish club and a group of advanced French students to take opportunities to explore the cultural aspects of the countries through trips to restaurants, museums, and theaters. 28 Mrs. Ann Marie Gear $6pcafi bt
