MAKE THE MET OF VQ JR CQIYIPUTEH CflPflBJLJTV. Math The ever-present chatter of the computer teletypes serves to vocalize the brains activity in the math corridor. This year ' s math department has changed for the better. Team-teaching and the math seminar room have served to modernize the department. It is headed by James Pender and his assistants Mr. Edward Baker, Mr. Richard Hargreaves, Mr. David Walsh, Mr. Lawrence Vallancourt, Mr. Raymond Kodzis, Mr. Harvey Fischler, Miss Judith Bolles, and Miss Maureen Bulger. Courses offered by this department to the students range from basic mathematics to calculus. Proficient math students may try competing in the Math Olympiad and taking the Actuaries Test or they may join the Math Team. IIIISISESS College-bound as well as career-oriented students take ad- vantage of the variety of skills offered by Westwood High School ' s Business Department. The department, headed by Mrs. Marion Healy and assisted by Mr. Albert Nolan, Mr. Charles Flahive, Mrs. Carolyn Bergen, and Mrs. Natalie Carey, offers a wide range of courses including typewriting, short- hand, law, accounting, secretarial and Office Procedures, office machines, data processing, and business English. The valuable skills acquired by the students enrolled in Business courses are offered to the school and community through service activities.
