REFLECTIONS 75 Westwood, Massachusetts REFLECTIONS 75 is the fourth yearbook of Edmund W. Thurston Junior High School. It is a product of the combined efforts of junior high students and volunteer staff. We hope that REFLECTIONS 75 will be a pleasant reminder of our years here at Thurston. The school year beginning in September, 1974, was one of challenge, innovation and exploration into many diverse fields. Perhaps the most far-reaching and novel concept of all was marked by the birth of the SUNRISE experiment. Pupils in this program really became a family within the mainstream of the student body, enjoying field trips and totally integrated learning experiences. There was also a variety of mini courses to meet the widest range of individual student interests and the invaluable Career Exploration meetings. Certainly the regular school program was immeasurably enriched by such co-curricular activities as WOSC, whose program culminated in the unforgettable Philadelphia trip; the memorable production of THE Boy Friend; the humanitarian endeavors of Operation HOW; the opportunities for social growth provided by the many school dances, especially the Student Council ' s semi-formal; and the all eighth grade field trip to see A Separate Peace which provided an opportunity for the utilization of one segment of Boston ' s vast cultural resources. Special credit is given to yearbook advisors Ms. Solodar and Ms. Montesano. Special thanks go to Mr. Abbott, Mr. Burke, Mr. Geary and Mr. Swann for their assistance, and an extra big thank-you to all the students who gave so willingly of their time and talent to make REFLECTION 75 a reahty.
