A new elective program for the upperclass student makes it pos- sible to select courses best suited to his needs, interests, and level of ability. The aim of the Drama Club, by using audio-visual techniques, is to attract and involve students inclined towards Theater Arts. Harlequin, the school literary magazine, is the showcase for students talented in creative writing. Mr William Davis Department Head Social Studies The Social Studies Department strives to foster the concept of good citizenship by having students parti- cipate in active dis- cussions of world af- fairs. The curriculum includes: civics, world history, modern euro- pean history, econom- ics, area studies, psy- chology, problems of democracy, and ad- vanced placement courses in united states history, and western civilization. A new course on human rela- tions was also started this year with a great response. Many well- known guests from the community parti- cipated as speakers and discussion leaders. Among those visiting the school were Sec- retary of State, John Davoren, Congresswo- man Louise Day Hicks, and respected leaders of labor and industry. The World Affairs Club is under the auspices of this department. . What else could you expect from the President ?
