FACULTY SOCIAL STUDIES Headed by Mr. Davis, the So- cial Studies Department provides an interpretation of world affairs, traditions, and cultures of past civilizations. A wide variety of courses are offered in different fields and at different levels, in- cluding two advanced placement courses. PRACTICAL ARTS Students interested in techni- cal careers learn the skills of me- chanics, electronics, and wood- working and the proper use of tools in the courses available in the Practical Arts Department. BUSINESS The many office skills required in the business world are taught by the business department with the aid of modern business ma- chines. Business students are aptly prepared for employment upon graduation and college pre- paratory students may learn any of the valuable skills offered by this department. HOME ECONOMICS The Home Economics depart- ment conducts classes in cooking, sewing, home management, fami- ly relations, and psychology. This year a senior sewing class for college-bound girls and a chef ' s club were instituted. FACULTY ART The art courses, under the di- rection of Mr. Wellsman, offer a complete study of the many fields of art for those students plan- ning to make art their career. The course also provides hours of relaxation, enjoyment, and a sense of accomplishment for all who have taken it. MUSIC Musically inclined students are offered a wide variety of activi- ties to choose from including Chorus, Boys ' and Girls ' Glee Club, Orchestra, Band and Music Appreciation. Under the able di- rection of Mr. Markarian the Music Dept. has established a tradition of excellence at W.H.S. LIBRARY Under the supervision of Mrs. Bradley the library has provided students with an ever increasing supply of literature. With the aid of the assistant librarian, Mrs. Sheffield, and the Library Club, Mrs. Bradley has given us a much improved background of literature. Look, Mr. Sarris!! A new bacteria.
