C aJJ Mhtor After two long but productive years in the Colburn Junior High School, the (ilass o! 11)57 sit itself, for its entrance into the building on Nahatan Hill. We did not realize then what fascinating experiences lay in store lor us in the lour i .us to come. In our freshman year, the most difficult one, we were very fortunate to have Mrs. Lawton and Mr. Marshall as our advisors. The first in a long line of extremely interesting class meetings was for the election of olhcers. We (hose Loring Smith, fane Rees, Warren Mayhew, and Judy Ness. We held our first dance in the middle of the year, and it was, like all the others during our four years of high school, a financial success. During the course of our first year, we were sorry to see Fred Schlup, Ray- mond Balbanis, Jeanne MacDonald, Mike Lally, John Porteous, and Benjamin Rrayton leave us. The loss, however, was more than made up by the addition of Henry Lawlor, Steve Malera, and Robert Antonitis. We also lost our advisor and English teacher, Mrs. Lawton. Our advisors in our sophomore year were Mrs. Bair and Mr. Vitali. We could always count on them lor hard work and timely suggestions. Our sophomore elections were won by Loring Smith, Jane Rees, Barbara Wilson, and Judy Ness. The never-ending cycle of people moving to and fro took its toll again this year. Edward Balbanis, Peter Tummillo, Audrey MacLean, David Anderson, John Harkness, Anita DeSena left; but we gained our famous weatherman, Paul Dorey. At the end of our sophomore year we lost our wonderful French teacher, Miss Williams; and our advisor, Mrs. Bair, also left. In June we all took off to Duxbury beach on our class trip where we swam and frolicked on the sand. As juniors, we were little different from what we were as sophomores. How- ever, we had a few more responsibilities, and Miss Murphy and Mr. Wallace were most capable as our advisors. We started off by electing Loring Smith, Fred Holmes, David Williams, and Justine Jones as our class officers. Early in the year we also elected Judy Ness and David Williams to organize our spring prom. 32
