PEP sQuADs ADD TO SPIRIT, E THUSIASM All for one, one for all, we're all for Westwood! Our seven ever-energetic Varsity cheerleaders kept spirit running high as they brought a sense of unity to West- wood fans. The Varsity and l.V. cheerleaders spurred the mighty Warriors on to victory and helped soften the occasional crunch of defeat. This year, two boy yell- leaders took the place of the traditional mascots, help- ing to boost the spirit at games. The lovely Warriorettes entertained fans at half-time during the football and basketball games. The girls per- formed dance routines with the Warrior band, and they also displayed their athletic skills with interesting pom- pon designs, showing superior style and enthusiasm. TOP RIGHT: l.V. CROSS COUNTRY HAS U DEFEATED SEASON When cross country coach jerry jobski called this year's season one of rebuilding, he obviously underestimated the efforts of his young team. For lobski's harriers ran their way past many hurdles en route to a perfect 9-0 record, including a very satisfying upset win over tenth ranked Marcos de Niza. Three medal winning runners who starred for the Tribe during the season were juniors lack Arnold and Richard Birberick, and senior Fred Tau. While these three runners led the Warriors to a fourth place finish in the Division, a host of juniors made up the bulk of the team. james Babcock, David Honetschlager, and Wade Felkins all will return next year after an outstanding season. Only Tau will be lost to graduation and two very capable sopho- mores, Mark Kranich and Pete Bradshaw, will take his place. The Warriors will really give 'em heck next year.
