L1 1 4. u u In a day when students in schools are re- ferred to more as numbers than as people with names, there are still teachers and ad- ministrative officials .who believe that there is something else to a student than the shell that sits behind a desk seven hours a day. When someone comes along who thinks of students as individuals instead of one big mob, it does not take long for the students to realize and appreciate this attitude. For two men on this campus it has taken less than two years for that appreciation to come. They are two men who take the time to understand, to explain, but most of all, they take the time to listen. ..not just in school, but also out of it. They realize that the ju- venile problems of high school students are sometimes not so juvenile. It seemed appropriate to dedicate the book that is part of the students to the men who have made the students a part of them- selves...Mr. Neil Merrell and lVlr. William White.
