Moore, Apaches Close Wit 6-1 Season Record The Apache team finished off the season with a 27-6 score over Mesa, marking the first-time they have ever beaten the rival jackrabbits. Top ground gainer during the season was Tobin Rudd C333 and the top scorer was Dan Martinez 4203. The team downed all but one opponent during their gridiron campaign, ending up with a 6-1 record. These juniors, along with the returning Varsity play- ers, should combine next year to produce another superior Varsity team next year. j.V. Team Completes Spirited Season, Above: LV. cheerleaders Liz Standage, Becky Riggs, and Betty Sue Driggs promoted spirit for the team throughout the season. Halfback, Frank Wright, charges at the opposing team's defensive line in a game against Tempe. 7 Wins, 3 Losses Displaying a good defense throughout the season, the j.V.s finished it off with a 7-3 record. Gridders Frank Wright, halfback, and Manuel Perez, guard, graduated to Varsity early in theseason, while fullback Sterling Bonner, halfback james Williams, and quarter- back Lyle Brandt and Steve johnson remained as top, outstanding players. Coaches Stansbury and McNaughton directed the team, instilled spirit, and brought out potential among its members.
