j ' ' Dedication Goes To Dorothy Shouse Dorothy Shouse is a teacher that the grads remember and will oft time say, she made biology so much fun for me that I looked for- ward to her class every day. As one old grad who had just completed his sixth year of college remarked, Mrs. Shouse is the most outstanding teacher I have ever hadagrade school, high school and college-she had a way of making biology interesting . This kind of talk has been echoed by many a former student from both Westwood and Mesa High. Mrs. Shouse started teaching at Mesa High in 1947 and then moved to Westwood in 1962. She has been department head here ever since. Her ability to present subject matter to her students in an interesting manner and in an effective way, even to those students who donit particularly like the subject, is truly remark- able. Mrs. Shouse is a dedicated teacher in the true sense of the word and for this reason the yearbook staff is honored to present this edition of the book to her. Disecting a leaf can be fun as well as informative. Jeff Gunnell finds this out in his second period class with Mrs. Shouse. . Ml 5, ,. .jj Explaining the relationships of plant reproductive systems is but one area of biology which Mrs. Shouse shows to her classes. fr' Looking over the remains of animals long dead proves to be quite inter- esting to Ron Gardner and Dale Geary.
