And We Wish To Dedicate No one person has put so much into Westwood High os has our principal. No one person has put in so much of his time, his wisdom, his heart, his love, his good iudgement, his sense ot humor, his years of experience, and above all, himself, as this man has. When the Board of Education, back in the year l96l, decided to select Mr. Brimhall to assume the duties as head ot the new high school they didnt iust pick a name out of a hat Ythey knew that they were getting the bestea native born Arizonian, a person educated entirely in Arizona schools, a person who had served as an administrator in the Mesa Schools since 1934. After the appointment was announced, the complex duties necessary to put WHS into operation were assumed by Mr. Brimhall. He put the machinery in motion to choose the best teachers and to get the best equipment necessary for the best student body, so that this would become the leading high school in the State. His success as the principal cannot be measured solely by his years of education or his forty years experience, much of it must be attributed to Mr. Brimhall, the man. He possesses many fine qualities which are necessary in one who must work with so many students, teachers, parents and the general public, Possibly his most enduring trait, is that he has the ability to listen, and to understand the whole story or situation-he can see and know the other fellows point ot view, and make all ot his decisions, accordingly, It is seldom that anyone leaves Mr. Brimhalls office feeling that he did not get a fair deal. His sense of humor has been a saving grace during these forty years. He can laugh at and with other people, and always, at himself, We the students at Westwood consider ourselves extremely fortunate to have Mr. Brimhall as our principal.
