Interests: gardening Lab Stud Emphasized Biology, the science of living things, is designed to help students de- velop an understanding of and an interest in plant and animal life. A survey is made of both the animal and plant kingdoms with major emphasis on anatomy, physiology, and diseases of man. Two new courses were added to the biology curriculum this year. Senior biology was available to those students who had successfully completed one year in both biology and chemistry. This course offered more laboratory study and was conducted by Mr. Mounts. The other new class was an ex- perimental course sponsored by the National Science Foundation as part of the Science Curriculum Study Program. Many new items of equipment were purchased this year including a stereo-microscope. This instrument permits the student to dial any available magnification with the image in view. I I ,,.. 4.
