The prime objective of this club is to broaden student awareness of the importance of chemistry in today’s modem world. A secondary objective is to expand on topics presented in the normal chemistry curriculum. Activities include presentation of films, demonstrations, and visitations to local industry. These men comprise the student body of the First and Second hour Industrial Technology classes. The company, including such areas of study as communications, research and development, industrial engineering, personnel and quality control, provides one of the most modern methods of studying industry available in education. Being a member of the club will help them decide on their future career. The Club also participates in many activities to raise money for purchasing machines and other office equipment for the business department. Some of the activities have been an annual fashion show given each spring, candy sales, and and selling ball point pens with game schedules. The non-profit activities that the club engages in are Operation Christmas Cards, homemade felt Christmas stockings filled with small gifts and a Christmas tree were sent to an advisory Troop in Viet Nam. The members of the Medical Careers Club have a chance to explore many areas of the medical profession. Members have attended meetings which have consisted of movies and speakers pertaining to the medical field, and several students enjoyed accompanying a doctor through his daily routine and touring a hospital. Along with furthering their own careers, our members helped others in many ways. Some club activities included selling UNICEF cards and calendars, a trip to the Vermilion Nursing Home to carol and give gifts at Christmas time, selling stuffed animals to help the mentally retarded and sending packages to soldiers in Viet Nam.
