presen: Westville Towi School Westville, Illinois c £)eclicci tlon In honor of her fifty-one years of service to the young, we wish to dedicate this 1963 Janus to Mrs. Mabelle Jackson Dice whose devotion to teaching has been an inspiration to many students throughout the years. Mrs. Dice has given twenty-six years to Westville High School where her name has become synonymous with Junior-Senior English. Her warmth, kindness, sense of humor, intelligence, and ability to command respect without fear have won for her the devotion and friendship of the students and the teachers. To our youth she has given what she could not keep, to gain what she could not lose. «= r 1963 L L'- -- J 3 Through the Year with Pictures Janus was he; god of doors and gates in Roman mythology. As he was god of Jhe beginning of things, the month of January was named after him. His temple doors in Rome stood open during war and closed during peace. His two faces enabled him to see both the past and the future, as well as the present. Our book, too, is Janus. GOOD NIGHT LADIES Good Night Ladies, the Senior play of 1963, is an extremely humorous story which demonstrates the romance and mischief that a group of college students can cause. When the elderly house matrons of Raleigh Hall don't arrive and two college men must don the ladies' wigs, dresses, and corsets to save the dorm from being restricted, anything can happen—And does! The hilarious situation is emphasized when the rather near-sighted dean of women discovers their secret. ’ream someone w°tching? the balcony, Sandy? Would you care ,eayen y music!
