— Published by the Senior Class of WESTVILLE TWP. HIGH SCHOOL 1952 n jji i-i]« ffETiiim ffiauid £ducatian Seven civic-minded citizens of Westville compose our board of education with Cyril Urbas as president and Joe Ottino as secretary. Through the years the tireless efforts of the board have given our school a fine football field, a modern gymnasium, and the latest equipment. The only reward received by these men for their time and effort is the complete satisfaction of knowing that they have fulfilled to the best of their ability the task of upholding the high standards Westville High has set for itself. Alaway Cowles Pierce Urbas Kaluza Ne-xmati ZPat eig, Principal Norman Patberg has been at Westville High School for only one year, but from his first day as the chief executive he has shown a sincere interest in the welfare of our school. He has promoted an efficient Hot Lunch Program, is co-advisor of the Janus, and has made many welcome improvements in the school. Even though we have known him for only one short year, the student body and faculty have come to respect and admire his willingness to cooperate, his friendly advice, and his capable administration. 5 Vacuity. It is never declined, and more common than proper. It is not very singular, in that it is usually used in the plural. It agrees with me.” A man, upon opening his icebox one morning, found to his amazement a live rabbit. “What are you doing here?” asked the man. “Isn’t this a Westinghouse?” answered the rabbit. “Yes.” “Well, I’m ’westing.” Father: “Is there anything worse than to be old and bent?” R. Wakeland: “Yes, to be young and broke.” Defense Attorney: “But if a man is on his hands and knees in the middle of the road, does that prove he is drunk?” Arresting Officer: “No, sir, it does not.” Defense Attorney: “Then why arrest him” Arresting Officer: “He was trying to roll up the white line.” If a man runs after money—he’s money mad. If he keeps it—he’s a capitalist. If he spends it—he’s a playboy. If he doesn’t get it—he lacks ambition. If he gets it without working— he’s a parasite.
