ROM one end of the campus to the other on Friday evenings, Wcsttown was buzzing with activity. The Hobby program, which was the cause of the industry, was varied, and every student could find something to suit his or her tastes. Friday Nights CLUB OFFICERS A Pollock D Donchian H Platt A Bacon L Peaslee L B anon W Cadbury For those who were interested in doing something vxhich vns constructive as well as entertaining there were unlimited opportunities in metal work where rings bracelets trays and so forth were made under the direction of Miriam Ellsbree Some very beau t1ful things were made lll this hobby Dick Walter kept h1s watchful eye on the shop and attempted the nerve wraeklng task of keeping over zealous Wil mcrs or saxxmg off any portions of their anatomies with the jig saw In Bacon cottage Marian Walter and George Whitney helped future Raphaels and Dores in painting block prints tapestries and nu merous other artistic efforts which were mainly in tended to awe the ama ed parents of said talented artists The nevxly formed Printing hobby under the astute direction of Harrie Price found a perma nent place among the other Friday evening activities th it ye tr when the school found that they vxcre rc pon iblc for the handbook and printed programs including the very successful one for the Operetta On the side of education but still definitely cn tertaining were CTBS reading SHBs Current Events and Music Appreciation Master Carrolls cozy and friendly living room was again filled with First and Seniors on Friday evenings listening to elections from novels As usual promptly at eight thirty Anne Brown began serving coffee md visitors xxcre then free to talk ovcr the re iding or any other subicct of interest or brove c through the book Hlled shelxes lining the room until it was time to go back to the school Something new was added when Master Sam consented to start a Current Events hobby to fill the place of his former Saturday morn ing talks it his home on thc Lane He was well . . , . i , , . , . , . . , . r S , e V s ' w ' ' a ' 2 2 2 z- 3 H ' w ys a I .Q 'I 1 1 N X . . , , N XS S.
